VCA exam in English

Many international workers in the Netherlands and Belgium do not speak Dutch well, or not yet. Good news: exam centres offer the VCA exam in many languages. And you can prepare in English, the language you understand best at work.

Can I take the VCA exam in English?

Often, yes. Exam centres offer the VCA exam in many languages. When you register, ask whether you can take the exam in English at your exam centre. Sometimes you need to tell them in advance.

Why practising in English helps

If you practise in English, you do not have to translate the question first. You can focus on the safety rules themselves. You also learn the technical terms in the language of your exam, so you recognise them on the day.

Working in the Netherlands or Belgium

On site, safety signs, instructions and toolbox meetings are often in Dutch. Learning the safety rules in English first makes it easier to understand them at work. Do you want to learn the Dutch terms as well? Then you can also buy the Dutch package and practise in both languages.

Read aloud by a real voice

In the app, every question and every answer is read aloud by a real voice, in the language you choose. That helps if reading is difficult, or if you learn better by listening. You can set the speed to slow, normal or fast.

In which languages can you practise?

In the app you can practise B-VCA in nineteen languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Ukrainian, Greek, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Croatian, Italian, Slovak and Hungarian. You can practise VOL-VCA in Dutch, English, German and French.

You choose the language when you buy your package. After that, the language is fixed. Want to practise in two languages, for example in English and in Dutch? Then you buy two packages.
